This paper is dealing with a systematic examination of DEFA’s music film productions in the 1960s. Through the reconstruction of the world models presented in the films and the conveyed sets of norms and values, distinctively East German-oriented, socialist conceptions of an “ideal world”, which serve the entertainment, are worked out.
