Abstract

Based on media-theoretical impulses of Karl Marx, the present paper empha­sizes the interdependence between social and media technological conditions. This is conceptualized under a social semiotical and media-theoretical perspective. The aim is to achieve a higher degree of differentiation, which allows to reconstruct the specific embossing factors of the various types of modality in the multimodal compositions as well as their realizability by medial communication. With the further integration of the media-dispositif, their power-related and disciplining consequences can be worked out, leading to new media-ethical positions.
