ICES - International Corpus of English Studies

International Corpus of English Studies (ICES) is a free, international peer reviewed journal that supports discussion of comparative studies of English around the world. It is related to the International Corpus of English project and encourages the use of its national components for comparative research, but accepts scholarly contributions that are based on other data as well.


ICES is committed to the study of variation in English in distinctive cultural, sociolinguistic and educational contexts. It includes theoretical and applied studies on language, literature and English teaching, with emphasis on cross-cultural perspectives and comparisons. The journal provides recent research, critical and evaluative papers, and reviews from Africa, America, Asia, Europe, and Oceania. Special sections such as 'Comments / Replies' and 'Forum' promote open discussions and debate.

It provides a forum for investigators in English as a native and non-native, first, second and international language, it seeks to promote interdisciplinary research and collaboration.
